No student should have to prove that she is not pregnant or has not had sex to retain her accommodation and continue her education.
Curfew Imposed in Nagpur After Communal Tensions
Curfew was imposed for the second consecutive day in Nagpur, Maharashtra, following communal tensions sparked by demands from Hindu nationalist groups, including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal, to remove the tomb of 17th-century Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The groups argued that Aurangzeb’s legacy was emblematic of historical oppression against Hindus.
Journalist Attacked in Pune
A journalist and his colleagues were ambushed in Pune on Feb. 9 by members of two political parties, according to Newslaundry, which quoted the journalist as saying that he felt the attack was an attempt on his life.
